Assistantships in the USA offer financial support to students who assist professors
in teaching or research. While competitive, they help cover living expenses.

Teaching Assistantship (TA):

Assistantship roles go beyond teaching—students support professors with grading, admin tasks, and student queries. Some universities offer full tuition waivers, with monthly stipends ranging from $550 to $1200, based on workload and performance.

Research Assistantship (RA):

Research Assistants (RAs) support professors in research projects, easing their workload. Funded by universities or external sponsors, RA positions are applied for during admission. Earnings range from $500 to $1500/month, based on subject and 10–20 weekly hours.

Graduate Assistantship (GA):

Like RAs but with higher compensation, GAs is filled by graduate students with advanced knowledge in their field. Application processes align with RAs, but GAs command higher pay due to their enhanced expertise.
Semester System:
The F-1 Visa facilitates international students pursuing full-time academic programs in accredited institutions. Students must maintain full-time enrolment, with part-time study subject to DSO approval. Practical training opportunities include Curricular Practical Training (CPT) and Optional Practical Training (OPT), each requiring specific authorization and endorsement.
Admission Requirements:
For master’s programs, applicants typically need a strong undergraduate GPA (ideally 65% and above), GRE scores (preferably 285 and above), and IELTS scores of 6 bands overall or higher. MBA candidates should aim for GMAT scores of 500 and above. Undergraduate applicants usually require a high school GPA (preferably 65% and above), SAT scores (preferably 1200 and above), and IELTS scores of 6 bands overall or higher
